Powerful Chip Duo

Compact Multiturn Solution with Flexible Features

The new TW39_3M evaluation board combines the TMR-based iC-TW39 angle sensor with the battery-buffered Hall sensor iC-PVL to form a compact end-of-shaft encoder solution for absolute angle measurement with additional revolution counting. Developers can now easily build this high-resolution magnetic multiturn encoder solution in the laboratory and conveniently put the chip duo into operation. The kit includes the appropriate magnets and connection cables, so that a working encoder system is ready for testing in no time.

The angle is resolved with up to 24 bits and supplemented by a 24-bit revolution counter. An externally applied backup voltage source ensures that iC-PVL continues to detect full revolutions without interruption after the main power supply is switched off. The low-power sensor has a current consumption of approx. 3…10 µA, thus ensuring a particularly long battery life.
