Powered by permanent-magnet salient pole motors, new high-speed motorcycles from Yadea were unveiled at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. Along with other models of two-wheelers, the event provided a platform for the Shanghai-based company to showcase its innovative motor technologies and vehicle designs for the first time in North America.
The 10KW motor is mid-mounted on the Keeness VFD motorcycle which can reach a maximum speed of 100km/h and can accelerate from 0-50km/h in just 4 seconds. The convection motor is designed to balance power and mileage with high torque or long-range operations to bring a new level of performance to motorcycles. It features a salient pole rotor which is large in diameter and shorter in length, a design typically used in electrical machines running at 100 rpm to 1,500 rpm.
Yadea is a fast-rising force in developing and manufacturing electric two-wheel vehicles including electric motorcycles, electric mopeds, electric bicycles and electric kick scooters. Since entering the ebike market six years ago, it has sold products to 60 million users in over 90 countries and sells through a network of 40,000+ retailers worldwide. Seven owned and operated production bases provide a large manufacturing capability.
Also on show were the Yadea E150, a high-performance electric scooter that boasts a peak power of 5KW, a peak torque of 160Nm, and a top speed of 80km/h. The company also introduced its series of ebike models equipped with high-performance motors. The Trooper 01 model features a dual motor drive and rear hub motor technology with a peak power of 1000W and 750W, while the Camper model, set to be released in March 2023, will also be equipped with the same motor.
