Spang Acquires Frost Magnetics Expanding West Coast Presence

Spang Engineered Solutions (SES), a business unit of Spang & Company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has acquired Frost Magnetics, located in Oakhurst, California. The purchase expands the reach of SES by providing an expanded presence in the western U.S.

In addition, the Frost Magnetics team brings unique expertise in the design and manufacture of magnetic devices, according to Zack Cataldi, general manager of SES. Specific areas where Frosts technical strengths complement those of SES include line frequency power magnetics in compact packages; redesign for improved efficiency, both at line frequency and switching frequencies; robust design for extreme environmental conditions; and UL/CSA certifications, all of which will continue with SES.

Longtime owners Mike and Anita Frost are now part of Spang.

SES specializes in the design and manufacture of high power switching, frequency inductors and transformers. Also part of Spang & Company are Magnetics, a supplier of soft magnetic components, and Spang Power Electronics which designs and manufacturers power control equipment.
