Bomatec Expands Through Acquisition

The Bomatec Group has taken over its long-term supply partner for the manufacture of plastic-injected magnets in Malaysia. Since its establishment in 1993, Tokyo Ferrite (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a firm with around 130 employees and a production plant located in Port Klang near Kuala Lumpur, has developed into a leading manufacturer of plastic-injected magnets made from ferrite and rare earth metals.  From 1st January 2015 the firm will be integrated into the Bomatec Group under the name Bomatec (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

“In terms of achieving further expansion in the market for plastic-injected magnets the integration of our long-term partner into the Bomatec Group represents an important strategic step for us,” said Christoph Bolliger, the director of the Bomatec magnet department responsible for the company’s future orientation.

Thanks to the acquisition and integration of the new firm, which is equally ISO/TS16949 certified, Bomatec is now commencing the manufacture of medium to large quantities of plastic-injected magnets made from ferrite or rare earth metals to the customer’s specifications.  The group is focusing in particular on the car industry as well as further fields of application such as the “white goods” industry, medical technology, general mechanical engineering and apparatus construction. The constant further development of contactless sensor technology, which has been developed on the basis of magnetic solutions, offers huge potential for growth.  This acquisition means that Bomatec is now even better equipped to take on these challenges and to drive for further development in this field.

The integration of Bomatec (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. may be seen as a sign of the continued solid growth which the family-owned company has now demonstrated over many years and of which the company’s directors are extremely proud. This commitment is an important strategic step towards creating an even more powerful group in a globalized market.
