BLOCK Manufactures Transformers for European Hospitals and Emergency Facilities Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

BLOCK, a German-based manufacturer of transformers, is playing an important role in the fight against COVID-19 by manufacturing special transformers for the supply of medical locations. For BLOCK, the main priority currently is to provide transformers with high quality specifications in terms of the safety of patients and medical personnel. Orders for other customers are also being postponed, in order to supply the products as quickly as possible.

“Our employees are currently doing some outstanding work! We have managed to manufacture over 200 transformers at both our Verden sites in record time,” said BLOCK’s CEO Wolfgang Reichelt. “These will be used for the supply of medical locations in hospitals and emergency facilities in England, Ireland, and Poland,” BLOCK’s employees work in shift patterns in order to comply with social distancing rules. Production staff are in a 3-shift pattern, in order to produce machine components for medical technology and other systemically relevant industries alongside their usual orders.

Required coronavirus hygiene regulations are being strictly adhered to on BLOCK premises. Distance between employees, special workplaces, disinfection, altered communications, and working from home are a matter of course. “Highly motivated employees, cutting-edge technology, a high level of vertical integration, and a broad range of materials have made it possible for BLOCK to manufacture lifesaving products in this time of crisis,” the company said.
