Aiming for expansion in Europe, Nihon Denji Sokki Co. Ltd (NDK), a Japanese manufacturer of equipment for magnet production, magnetization and magnetic measurement has entered into a distributorship agreement with Elsoma GmbH of Schwerte, Germany.
A key aspect is NDK’s new pressless magnet production process for magnet manufacturing. Its equipment lineup also includes sintering and molding presses for the manufacture of neodymium magnets and magnetic particle testing equipment.
Elsoma becomes the exclusive sales partner for NDK in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. It will also provide local repair and service support. The agreement was finalized at this year’s Coiltech Exhibition in Augsburg, as shown in the accompanying photo, by Arihito Kasahara, president of NDK, left, and Bernd Boehle, managing director of Elsoma.
“Our support for magnet production including the new pressless magnet production process (NPLP) opens new opportunities for European magnet manufacturers, said Kasahara” “We have worked with Elsoma on a project basis for several years, building a strong and trusted relationship. Now, we are taking the next step to expand our presence in Europe, leveraging our success in the Japanese and Asian markets. Many leading Japanese OEMs and automotive suppliers rely on our technology, and we are already engaged in exciting e-mobility projects in Germany.
“NDK is a global leader in post-assembly magnetization and heat-assisted magnetization—critical technologies for challenging rotor designs,” noted Boehle. “Their products perfectly complement our existing portfolio, allowing us to offer solutions for larger motor magnets.” Located in Schwerte near Dortmund, Elsoma produces and sells a wide portfolio of magnetising and measuring devices, along with an extensive range of accessories.
