Syntech Launches Rapid Trigger Magnetic-Axis Keyboard

April 27, 2025 – Computer peripherals company Syntech today launched the Chronos 68 Rapid Trigger Magnetic Keyboard, a premium gaming keyboard engineered for elite performance and designed to transition seamlessly between high-stakes gameplay and professional productivity. Using Hall Effect switches to detect the position of magnets beneath each key, the keyboard is designed to offer lightning-fast speed prized by competitive gamers.

At the heart of the keyboard is advanced magnetic-axis technology, offering adjustable actuation from 0.1mm to 3.5mm and a blistering 8000Hz polling rate for virtually instantaneous response. The Rapid Trigger mechanism resets keys the instant they’re released, while a Snap Tap feature intelligently prioritizes input, preventing command conflicts during intense gaming moments.

Unlike traditional mechanical keyboards which rely on physical metal contacts or optical keyboards which use infrared light interruption, in this device the magnetic switches are Hall Effect switches that detect changes in the position of a magnet beneath each key via a Hall effect sensor. When a key is pressed, the magnet moves closer to the sensor, and the magnetic field variation is converted into an electrical signal to register the keystroke.

Being magnetic, the switches offer other key features, too, notes the company. Since they are contactless, they can last longer – more than 100,000 presses — than traditional mechanical switches which tend to suffer from metal oxidation. The actuation mechanism is adjustable using software-defined actuation points while traditional keyboards have fixed travel. Direct magnetic signal transmission avoids debounce delays of mechanical contacts, providing ultra-low latency.

Dedicated hotkeys give users instant access to the intuitive software interface, enabling effortless profile switching and real-time configuration. For hotshots, a Super Tap feature allows up to four unique commands on a single key through nuanced press patterns.
