MWS Wire Industries, a supplier of magnet wire and specialty wire, is now operating out of a new, larger facility in southern California and is under the leadership of a new president. The changes represent expanded operations and mark important milestones in the firm’s 53-year history.
The focal point of the new building is a 20,000 sq ft state of the art manufacturing facility for fine wire production with planned building additions adding another 50,000 sq ft. A 40,000 sq ft warehouse completes the floor plan that is more than doubling the space available at the previous site. The new location is in Oxnard, north of Los Angeles, about 22 miles from the previous site. Over the next 12 months MWS plans to add significant manufacturing capacity with new machines, also new capabilities in wire manufacturing and value-added services.
Benjamin Konrad has been appointed as the company’s new president. He succeeds former president Ken Goss, who has retired after a long career with MWS as one of its original employees. A graduate of the Technical University Munich in Germany, Konrad brings an extensive technical and business background with emphasis on manufacturing and product innovation. He has worked extensively in the aerospace and automotive segments across the US, Europe, Asia and Africa.
MWS is part of The Elektrisola Group, an international producer of fine and ultra-fine magnet wire headquartered in Germany. It has operations worldwide with 9 manufacturing plants in 7 countries along with 20 sales offices in 11 countries.
