Adams Magnetic Products Names Business Development Manager

Aug12_AMPAdams Magnetic Products Co. has announced John Kovatch as Business Development Manager, reporting to Adams’ Sr. Vice President of Business Development, Larry Budnik. Kovatch will serve new and existing customers’ needs for design and procurement assistance with all types of permanent magnets and custom magnetic assemblies, from simple to high-tech. His primary responsibilities will focus on growing Adams’ Permanent Magnet Division via direct collaboration with customers’ engineering, production and purchasing departments.

“Magnets are key elements found in all type of products – from medical equipment and personal computers, to appliances and industrial equipment, to motors and sensors, to consumer products and store displays,” said Kovatch. “Adams has the expertise to help out at any stage of a product’s development from concept through production. And as an ITAR registered and ISO certified supplier, we are in a perfect position to expand our business in military and other high-tech markets.”

Kovatch’s experience is primarily in the fastener and assembly components business, where he worked in both manufacturing and distribution.  He joins Adams from Würth Industry of North America, where he worked as Director of Sales responsible for developing and implementing strategies that helped grow sales double digits for five consecutive years. His primary customer base was original equipment manufacturers who demand superior levels of service, quality, security, and customized vendor managed inventory programs.

His manufacturing experience was spent with Tinnerman Palnut Engineered Components (formerly Eaton Corp), and SFS Intec, a Swiss manufacturer of externally threaded fasteners and specialty cold-formed products, where he held such titles as New Product Development Supervisor and Sales Engineer. Working with his customer’s engineering and purchasing groups, he was instrumental in developing solutions for applications that resulted in material cost savings, improvements in manufacturing efficiencies, and reductions in labor. He looks forward to bringing this same service-oriented business approach to the customers of Adams.
