PCE Instruments Broadens Line with New Product Developments + Acquisition of List-Magnetik

PCE Instruments, manufacturer of an extensive line of test equipment including many portable magnetic analyzers, has broadened its product lineup recently with more new product developments plus, particularly, the acquisition of fellow German instrument maker List-Magnetik.

MFM 3800 magnetic field measuring device is designed with two different versions. In one, the magnetic field is recorded axially, the other has a transverse Hall sensor for recording both DC and AC fields.

One of its recent developments is the PCE-MFM 3800 magnetic field measuring device for direct and alternating field detection in industrial, research and quality control applications. It can be used in two different versions. One is equipped with a sensor that measures axially, meaning the magnetic field is recorded perpendicular to the sensor direction. The other is equipped with a transverse Hall sensor that records direct and alternating fields from 0 to 3500 mT. Resolution is rated at 0.001 mT.

In July 2025, the company acquired List-Magnetik Dipl.-Ing. Heinrich List GmbH, a specialist in coating thickness gauges, magnetic field measuring devices and other magnetic measurement technology. The move is seen as significantly strengthening the position of both companies in the international market for industrial measurement technology. Based in in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, List-Magnetik was founded in 1967.

“The integration of List-Magnetik into our group of companies opens up new opportunities to expand our product portfolio and strengthen our technological expertise,’ explains Volkan Sevim, Managing Director of PCE Finanz- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. ‘We value List-Magnetik’s many years of experience and technical know-how and look forward to our future together.” The existing structures and location remain unchanged  The management team led by founder Dipl.-Ing. Heinz-Dieter List and Dipl.-Inform. Rainer Prigge continue to run the business.

‘In PCE Instruments, we have found a strong partner who shares our values and supports our vision of innovative measurement technology,’ says Heinz-Dieter List. ‘Together, we will continue to drive forward our product development and offer our customers even more comprehensive solutions.’

The acquisition marks a significant step in the history of PCE Instruments and lays the foundation for further growth and innovation in the field of magnetic measurement technology.
