ITG Electronics, a leading manufacturer of magnetics and EMI filters, has introduced its DCN121107A Series of high-current nanocrystalline common mode chokes. Designed for applications requiring more than 20 amperes (A), the compact components provide strong common mode noise suppression, low direct current resistance (DCR) and a 300 VAC rating for modern higher-voltage power systems.
The series combines the high permeability of nanocrystalline core material with a space-saving design that can reduce component size and weight by 40-60% compared with ferrite-based common mode chokes. Because the material enables designers to achieve the required inductance with fewer turns, the components also deliver lower DCR, helping increase efficiency and reduce power loss.
Three standard configurations are available. The DCN121107A-311Y provides a minimum inductance of 315 µH, a rated current of 36A and maximum DCR of 0.95 mΩ. The DCN121107A-561Y delivers 560 µH, 26A and 1.7 mΩ, while the DCN121107A-871Y offers 875 µH, 20A and 2.9 mΩ. Custom inductance values also are available.
The DCN121107A Series is optimized for peak common mode attenuation in the 20 MHz to 30 MHz frequency range, helping mitigate conducted electromagnetic interference generated by high-speed switching power systems. Its high-current capability and compact footprint make the series particularly well suited for AC-to-DC converters used in AI data centers, as well as industrial power supplies, renewable-energy inverters, energy-storage systems, electric-vehicle charging equipment, motor drives and industrial automation.
Rated for 300 VAC operation, the series is designed to address higher-voltage electronic architectures and increasingly stringent safety requirements. The additional voltage capability provides greater design margin against transient voltage events and supports equipment designs intended to comply with standards including UL/IEC 60938-2 and IEC 62368-1.
The through-hole components measure a maximum 29.5 × 18.0 mm, with a maximum height of 27.5 mm. Additional specifications include 2,100 Vrms dielectric strength from winding to winding, an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, UL 94 V-0 materials and RoHS compliance.
