VEGA Americas New Headquarters & Advanced Manufacturing Facility

Process instrument manufacturer VEGA has opened a new $50 million headquarters and advanced manufacturing facility for its growing Americas operations. Located in Mason, Ohio, the new site is centered around a 230,000 square-foot complex that houses the company’s business operations, advanced manufacturing and production facility, and state-of-the-art training center and lab.

Based in Germany, the company has recently grown rapidly with radiometric sensing technology but also makes a well-developed line of magnetic instruments and accessories for level measurement and process control. Some products combine both radar and magnetic technologies. “This facility will enable us produce a wider range of instrumentation in the U.S. than was possible before,” said John Groom, president of VEGA Americas.

Among its magnetic-based instruments, the VEGAMAG 83 is a magnetic level indicator designed for processes with low dielectric constant values, cryogenic applications or light hydrocarbons. It pairs with a non-contact radar instrument in the same chamber as the magnetic float, tracking the metallic float top rather than the liquid surface.
VEGA’s magnetic pen provides easy operation for display and adjustment modules with the option of Bluetooth/magnetic pen adjustment.

VEGA employs over 2,100 people worldwide, 1,000 of whom work at its headquarters in Schiltach, Germany. For more than 60 years, the company has provided measurement solutions for chemical and pharmaceutical plants, the food industry, drinking water supply systems, sewage treatment plants, landfills, mining, power generation, oil platforms, ships and airplanes.
