VACUUMSCHMELZE GmbH & Co. KG will again be an exhibitor at this year’s CWIEME, Coil Winding, Insulation & Electrical Manufacturing, in Berlin. The highlights on show at Stand D39 in Hall 3.1 will include the new 9 series of the company’s VACODYM neodymium-iron-boron alloy range. These products are the new generation of VAC’s rare earth permanent magnets, produced using special manufacturing methods and delivering approximately 4 percent higher remanence than comparable alloys in the current 8 series.
With lower temperature coefficients, the new alloys have a range of strengths, which offer higher operating temperatures and are therefore well suited for servo motor applications.
Where higher remanence, or magnetic flux density, is not a priority, magnets of the new 9 series VACODYM tolerate operating temperatures up to 20°C higher than current VAC magnet grades.
No tooling changes are necessary for customers that already use the 8 series VACODYM products. The 9 series also features improved corrosion stability, in most cases enabling uncoated magnets to be used in motor-based applications.
