Standex-Meder Electronics has announced that its MK02, MK11, MK21P, MK26 and MK27 series of reed sensors are now rated IP67. These five lines have achieved this accreditation, which certifies that the sensors are both totally protected against dust and protected against the effects of immersion between 15 cm and 1 m.
The IP (Ingress Protection) rating system meets a number of British and European standards, including those established by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). It establishes the environmental protection, both against solids and against liquids, of enclosures around electronic equipment, allowing users to be sure that the components will survive in their applications.
“This rating provides a unique advantage that for our customers who deal in the most extreme conditions,” said Alexander Weber, product manager for Sensors at Standex-Meder. “Products which are IP67 rated can survive where other similar components would fail – for example, when submerged in water. This rating is a testament to the durability and quality of our offering.”
