AVX Corp. has announced that the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has issued Drawings for high-reliability versions of its Accu-P thin film capacitor series, which exhibits both extremely low capacitance values (0.05 pF) and ultra-tight capacitance tolerances (±0.01 pF). Well suited for RF amplifiers, mobile and military communications, radar systems, global positioning systems, filters, VCOs, and matching networks, among a host of other applications, AVX’s Accu-P capacitor series also exhibits low ESR and high Q at VHF, UHF, and microwave frequencies.
Composed of very low-loss dielectric materials in conjunction with highly conductive electrode metals, Accu-P capacitors exhibit improved RF power handling capabilities in both small signal and RF power applications. The series also demonstrates high stability with respect to time, temperature, frequency, and voltage variation, as well as improved solderability and leach resistance. Inspection, text, and quality control procedures for the series are all executed in accordance with ISO 9001, CECC, IECQ and USA MIL Standards, guaranteeing high-quality, reliable performance in critical defense applications.
“DLA drawings are widely considered the most efficient means of procuring and supporting high-reliability microcircuits within the defense community and many of our products are specifically designed for military applications, so we’re very happy to have received the DLA’s approval for our well-established Accu-P Series,” said Larry Eisenberger, senior marketing application engineer at AVX.
Intended to prevent the proliferation of contractor-developed drawings that describe generic microcircuits as though they were program-unique devices, DLA drawings are standardized government documents that present all of the applicable specs for existing high-reliability microcircuits designed for use in military applications.
