The iC-MU Series from iC-Haus integrates Hall sensors, signal conditioning, and digital processing in a single chip to provide high-resolution off-axis absolute position measurement for rotary and linear applications. By simultaneously scanning a master and a nonius track, the devices compute an absolute position within one mechanical revolution using a 2 or 3track nonius scheme with resolutions up to 18–20 bits.
On-chip sine-to-digital converters deliver 12-bit real-time position data (14-bit filtered), while flexible output options include BiSS C, SSI, SPI, incremental ABZ with FlexCount up to 65,536 CPR, Sin/Cos, and UVW commutation for BLDC motors with up to 16 pole pairs. The series supports pole pitches of 1.28 mm, 1.50 mm, and 2.00 mm and operates up to 24,000 rpm or 16 m/s linear speed, enabling compact hollow-shaft encoders, motor feedback systems, and multi-axis measurement setups across industrial and automotive environments from –40 °C to up to 115 °C.
