Only 53 mm long and 12 mm in diameter — that’s the new contactless magnetic angle sensor from ASM Sensors in Germany. Thanks to its compact rod design, the posirot PRDS1 fits into the tightest installation spaces and is ideal for door hinges as well as swivel and gripper arms on mobile machines. This gives design engineers even more options for integrating non-contact angle measurement into their applications.
With built-in multi-Hall technology, it is not only slim, but also very reliable.. Rotary positions from 0° to 360° are measured using a Hall-effect sensor array and an external position magnet. The magnetic encoder technology is completely contactless and contains no moving parts, making the sensor exceptionally resistant to shock and vibration while able to withstand temperatures from -40°C to +85°C.
Difficult environmental conditions are therefore no problem, making it suitable for applications such as in mobile machines in outdoor use, in production and filling plants with intensive cleaning processes or in large medical devices that come into contact with strong disinfectants.
The measuring range is 0° to 360°, in 15° steps. It has a CANopen interface and models with incremental output or SSI digital output are also available. See www.asm-sensor.com.
