Axalta Wins Innovation Award for ECO Wire Enamel 

Wire enamels from Axalta enable efficient electric motors and powertrains 

Axalta Coating Systems has been lauded with a top innovation award for its Voltatex 7345 A ECO wire enamel that boosts the efficiency of electric motors, powertrains and energy storage systems in a sustainable manner. The 2024 BIG Innovation Award was presented by the Business Intelligence Group, it was one of two won by Axalta, the second for its Raptor flameproof coating.

Coatings for enhanced electrification in a variety of energy applications 

Based in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, Axalta is a global leader in the coatings industry, with three distinctive product segments in its energy solutions business – wire enamels, impregnating resins and electrical steel coatings. In 2021, it added to the portfolio with the acquisition of Anhui Shengran Insulating Materials, a Chinese producer of high-quality wire enamels used in a wide range of consumer electronics, electric vehicle, and industrial applications. “Anhui Shengran’s wire enamel products and capabilities are highly complementary to our growing Energy Solutions business,” said Shelley Bausch, senior vice president of global industrial coatings at Axalta, when the deal was announced. “This will be a solid platform for further specialization and growth as we support key customers in China.” For more info, see www.axalta.com
