UK Funds Recycling Projects with Ionic Technologies & Partners 

Ionic Technologies, a Northern Ireland-based subsidiary of Australian minerals company Ionic Rare Earths, has secured significant new grant funding from the British government that support developing collaborative rare earth element supply chains within the UK. Two grants have been awarded under Innovate UK’s Climates program involving Ionic and several program partners — Vacuumschmelze, Less Common Metals, the Materials Processing Institute and Swansea University.

SRC Lines Up Feedstock for New Processing Plant in Canada Amidst Resolute Government Backing to Seize Economic Opportunity in Rare Earths & Magnet Production Domestically 

The Saskatchewan Research Council is lining up supplies of feedstock to funnel into its new rare earth processing facility in central Canada that is aimed to catalyze a mines-to-magnet supply chain for the country. In recent moves it has forged agreements with Hung Thinh Group to import rare earth carbonate from Vietnam and purchased $3 million worth of stockpiled rare earth material from Vital Metals – adding to previously arranged supplies to come from Commerce Resources’ Ashram property near Quebec. Two efforts to build a supply chain in Europe for rare earth resources and magnets are bringing together a cluster of industry and academic players spanning the continent — and reaching even to Beatrice, Nebraska in the USA for processing ore samples from an idyllic field in Norway. Among entities linked to the projects are research technology development firm RTD Talos in Cyprus, research institute SINTEF in Norway, along with REE Minerals in Norway and American processing firm Rare Earth Salts in Nebraska.
