Surging Data Centers Drive Reliance on MagneticTechnology for Cooling
As AI adoption and cloud computing drive rapid expansion of data centers, managing the growing heat load in cavernous buildings stuffed with electronics is driving fresh reliance on the use of magnetic technology for cooling the sensitive equipment. Examples are plainly evident at recent data center events, HVAC shows, new product developments – and recent orders from data center operators.

CNH Goes Electric with Robotic Vehicles for Specialty Crop Farming & Telehandler for Material Handling
Building from its heritage in diesel power, agricultural and industrial equipment manufacturer CNH Industrial has embraced clean-energy technology with permanent-magnet electric propulsion in two of its recent development efforts. A stand-out innovation from its engineers is the new R4 robotic vehicle for working vineyards and orchards, another is a hybrid-electric telehandler for material handling that is in prototype stage.

SBQuantum Positions for Growth as Sensor Launched in Space in MagQuest Challenge
SBQuantum, a Canadian developer of quantum diamond magnetometers capable of providing accurate and timely data for navigation, defense and public safety without reliance on the Global Positioning System, is positioning for growth with investor funding, a new CEO, a new U.S. sister company — and launch of its sensor into orbit as part of the final phase of the MagQuest Challenge, of which it is one of three finalists.

Magnetism Recharged: A New Method for Restoring Magnetism in Thin Films
Modern low-power solutions to computer memory rely heavily on the manipulation of the magnetic properties of materials. Understanding the influence of the chemical properties of these materials on their magnetization ability is of key importance in developing the field. A study published in Applied Physics Letters, led by researchers from SANKEN at The University of Osaka, has revealed a technique for recovering magnetism in a degraded spintronics device. This method can be applied to improve the robustness of next-generation semiconductor memory.
